Cheba Hut Smoke out in Justice lady liberty

Everyone’s favorite sandwich shop is doing more for the cannabis community this month. Arizona-based chain, Cheba Hut, is celebrating its 24th birthday with a worthy cause. For every sub purchased, they’ll donate $1 to the Last Prisoner Project’s efforts.

The Last Prisoner Project was established in 2019 by cannabis activist, Steve DeAngelo, cannabis entrepreneur, Andrew DeAngelo, and music industry veteran, Dean Raise. Since its creation, they work to redress the harms of cannabis criminalization through legal intervention, education, & criminal justice reform advocacy. Cheba Hut has become a staple of cannabis-themed food, continually hosting events for different facets of the industry. It’s only right to become a staple for even more!

The sandwich shop shared the news via Instagram. The event is scheduled for January 20th at all locations across the country. Cannabis reform to address past issues has been a concern since legalization started. As we’ve all discussed, it’s hypocritical to allow the legal sale of an item that has put thousands in prison for the same. Those with non-violent charges that are cannabis-related added even more fuel to the conversation. As more companies are getting involved, Cheba Hut is hoping to aid some 40,000 in this effort.

Come celebrate Cheba Hut’s birthday and a cause close to our hearts this month. Check here for more information on the Last Prisoner Project. Check here for Cheba Hut’s menu and locations nearby.
